Difference Between Candy Thermometer and Meat Thermometer
When it comes to temperatures, these two thermometers have different ranges. A candy thermometer can handle extremely high temperatures, usually up to 400°F (200°C), which is like the surface of the sun! On the other hand, a meat thermometer is designed for lower temperatures, typically up to 200°F (90°C), which is more like a cozy warm bath.
The reason for this difference is that meat and candy have different temperature requirements. Meat needs to be cooked to a safe internal temperature to avoid foodborne illnesses, while candy needs to reach a specific temperature to achieve the perfect texture and consistency. It's like the difference between a gentle simmer and a roaring boil – they serve different purposes.
