Side Effects of Cucumber Juice
I hate to break it to you, but some people are allergic to cucumbers. It’s rare, but it happens. You might get an itchy mouth, a rash, or—in extreme cases—swelling. Not the “injectable” kind of swelling you want for plump lips.
This is more common in people with oral allergy syndrome, especially if you’re allergic to ragweed or melons. Cucumbers are part of the same family, so you might have a frenemy relationship with them.
If your lips tingle or your throat feels scratchy after juicing, stop. Just stop. No amount of detox is worth a trip to the ER. Switch to celery—it’s the less dramatic cousin.
Cucumber Juice Face? (Spoiler: It’s Fine)
Some people freak out about cucumber juice making your skin look too pale or too green. That’s a myth. You’d have to bathe in the stuff to turn green—like a Shrek cosplay. Normal consumption just gives you a healthy glow.
But if you’re a vampire avoiding the sun, don’t worry. The vitamin K and antioxidants will actually make your skin radiant, not weird. You’ll look like a moisturizer commercial, not a alien.
So, unless you’re planning to paint yourself green, keep drinking. Your complexion will thank you.
