Is the Jubilee Line Running Today
Look at the faces of your fellow passengers. Are they zen, scrolling on phones? Or are they grinding their teeth while staring at the tunnel? Vibes matter. A crowd of frustrated people with “I’m going to be late” eyes is a red flag bigger than a Tube roundel.
Also, count the number of tourists holding large suitcases. If there’s a cluster of them at the platform edge, the westbound train is probably about to be a comedy of errors. Bless them.
And keep an ear out for the dreaded announcement: “This train is terminating at Stanmore.” That’s the Jubilee Line’s way of saying, “Surprise! You’re going to the suburbs whether you like it or not.” Classic.
What About Strikes and Bank Holidays?
Ah, the holy trinity of transport chaos: strikes, bank holidays, and random snowflakes. If there’s a strike, assume the Jubilee Line is running on a “best effort” basis—which is TfL for “good luck, mate.” Bank holidays mean engineering works 90% of the time.

The only exception? Christmas Day. No trains at all. Even the Jubilee Line deserves a mince pie and a nap. Respect that.
On the bright side, when the line does run smoothly, it’s a beautiful thing. You glide from Waterloo to Canary Wharf in minutes, air-con blowing, and you feel like a time-traveling king. Cherish those moments.
