What Stops Spiders Coming in the House
Spiders are masters of squeezing. A gap around a window frame that looks small to you is a highway to them.
Walk around your house and look for light coming through door edges or vents. If light can get through, so can a spider—and it will.
You don’t have to become a contractor. Just grab some caulk or weatherstripping. It takes ten minutes and stops more than spiders. It stops drafts, too.

The porch light trap
That warm glow by your front door is basically a neon sign that says “All-You-Can-Eat Buffet” for insects. And where insects go, spiders follow.
Switch to yellow “bug lights” or simply keep the porch light off when you’re not using it. I started doing this last summer and saw half as many spiders inside.
If you need light for safety, use a motion-sensor light. It’s polite to your neighbors and rude to bugs.
