Percentage into Whole Number
Did you know that 100% is just the number 1 in disguise? Yep, 100% of a pizza is one whole pizza. Multiply 100% by 100, and you get 100—the same as the number on the tag.
But here’s the funny part: if you want to turn 0.5% into a whole number, you still multiply by 100. 0.5% becomes 0.5. That’s not a whole number yet—you’ve only stripped off the “%” costume!
So the trick really works only when your percentage is already a “clean” number like 25%, 50%, or 80%. Otherwise, you get a decimal—which is still better than that weird percent sign.

The Reverse Party Trick
You can also go backward. Take a whole number like 75 and add a % sign. That’s just dividing by 100. So 75 becomes 0.75 (or 75% of one pizza).
Confusing? Yes. Hilarious? Also yes. Math loves to mess with your brain.
Imagine telling your friend, “I ate 200% of the cake.” They’ll freak out. But you just mean you ate two whole cakes—which is both impressive and terrifying.
