Sometimes the itch is so maddening, you’d rub a sandpaper against it. Rubbing alcohol can temporarily dry out the area and reduce itching. But don’t mistake that for killing the fungus. It’s like putting a piece of tape over a leaky pipe—it stops the drip for a moment, but the pipe is still broken.
I’ve done this at 2 AM, crawling to the bathroom, half asleep. The cold tingle feels fantastic, but by morning, the itch is back. It’s a band-aid, not a cure.
