What Happened to Rick Walking Dead
著者: 森 瞳
In that explosive moment, Rick Grimes didn't die—he was rescued. A cryptic helicopter with a three-ring logo swooped in and airlifted him to safety, leaving a trail of zombie dust and unanswered questions. The showrunners confirmed that Rick was taken by the Civic Republic Military (CRM), a powerful faction with advanced technology and a strict code of secrecy. If you blinked, you missed the clue: a scrap of paper in a previous episode hinted at a community of scientists and soldiers.
So where is Rick now? He’s alive, but he’s effectively a prisoner—or a guest—in a world that makes Alexandria look like a summer camp. The CRM’s mission is to rebuild society, but they do it with a cold, authoritarian vibe that would make Negan blush. Actor Andrew Lincoln left the main show to spend time with his family, but he promised to return in a series of three feature-length movies that will wrap up Rick’s story. Think of it as a long intermission for one of TV’s most iconic characters.
The Spin-Off That Connects the Dots
The CRM isn’t just a one-off villain—it’s the backbone of the upcoming spin-off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which quietly aired in 2026. That show introduced us to a teenage girl, Hope, whose father was also taken by the CRM. If you want serious Rick closure, you might need to binge that two-season series—it’s short, sweet, and packed with lore. Fun fact: the CRM’s symbol is a stylized three-ring, representing their three core beliefs: survival, service, and sacrifice. It’s like a Boy Scout badge for the apocalypse, but with more helicopter gunships.
Andrew Lincoln himself has been spotted on set for the first of the Rick movies, and production is reportedly underway now that the writers’ strike is over. The film is expected to explore Rick’s time with the CRM—how he adapted, resisted, and maybe even escaped. It’s a classic “man vs. system” narrative, but with zombies as the ultimate backdrop. If you’re a fan of The Last of Us or Children of Men, you’ll love the tone they’re aiming for.
