What's the Drinking Age in London
You can’t buy alcohol for someone under 18 in a pub. But you can give them a sip of your drink. It’s a legal gray area. Very British.
Also, drinking in public is legal. Yes, you can walk down Oxford Street with an open can. Police might ask you to pour it out, but you’re not arrested.
Unless you’re on the Tube. No booze on the Tube or buses. That’s the one place London says “absolutely not.” The train is sacred, apparently.
The Royal Twist
Remember Prince George? He’s third in line to the throne. But he can’t buy a pint until 2027.
Even royalty follows the 18 rule. Though they probably have a butler who “acquires” wine. We assume.
Funniest fact: The Queen (RIP) had a personal gin allowance. No ID needed. Monarchy has its perks.
