How to Cook a Precooked Boneless Ham
Here’s the only hard rule: The ham must reach 140°F (60°C) internally. Since it’s precooked, you’re basically warming it up. But 140°F is the safe zone.
Use a meat thermometer. Stick it into the thickest part, away from any fat or bone (there’s no bone, so just aim for the center). Don’t guess. I once guessed and served cold ham. My cat loved it. My guests didn’t.
When it hits 140°F, pull it out. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Resting is mandatory. The juices settle, and the meat firms up for clean slicing.
