Warmest City in Europe in November
Pack layers. You’ll want a light sweater for the evenings when the temperature dips to 13°C. A denim jacket or a cashmere cardigan works perfectly. Don’t bother with a heavy coat—you’ll only regret carrying it.
Book a harbour-facing room. The sea views are spectacular at sunrise, and you’ll wake up to the sound of gentle waves. Look for boutique hotels in the old capital, Mdina, if you want a quieter, fairytale alternative to Valletta’s buzz.
Eat like a local. November is the start of the olive harvest and citrus season. Try a kapunata (Maltese ratatouille) or fenek (rabbit stew) at a traditional tal-fenek restaurant. Wash it down with a local Cisk lager or a glass of M altese wine—the reds are surprisingly bold.
One more thing: bring a good book. Afternoon rain showers can appear out of nowhere, but they rarely last more than twenty minutes. They’re the perfect excuse to duck into a café for a kafe’ Shumari (orange peel-infused coffee) and watch the world slow down.
