How to Get a Stuck Tampon Out
Insert your index finger (or middle finger—be adventurous) gently inside. Wiggle it toward your tailbone. You’re aiming for the cervix, which feels like a firm, round lip—like a nose in a dark room. The tampon will be right behind it, usually curled up in a little pocket called the fornix.
Hook your finger around the string. If you can’t feel the string, don’t panic—it’s probably tucked behind the tampon. Pinch the base of the tampon with your finger and thumb, and pull downward, not upward. Pulling upward can jam it deeper. Pull down, like you’re opening a stubborn jar of pickles.
