Is London Bigger Than New York City
In New York, size is about vertical ambition. The skyline screams “we own the sky.” Everything is stacked, from walk-ups to penthouses. You live in a shoebox, but you have the best bagel of your life waiting on the corner.
London, being wider, offers horizontal variety. You trade skyscrapers for townhouses, parks, and the occasional palace. The Royal Parks alone cover 5,000 acres—that’s bigger than Central Park, and they aren’t even the city’s defining feature.
Cultural reference: Think of the difference between a jazz club in Greenwich Village and a proper pub in Islington. One is tight, sweaty, and brilliant; the other is spacious, wooden, and full of history. Both are wonderful, but they demand a different pace.
