Sandylands Holiday Caravan Park Park Ayrshire
Look, it’s Scotland. You’ll get four seasons in one day. We had sunshine, sideways rain, and a rainbow that looked Photoshopped. Pack a hoodie, a bikini, and a spirit of total acceptance. The park handles rain well—there’s an indoor pool with slides. I may or may not have done twenty-seven laps of the lazy river.
One evening, me and my partner walked onto the beach at sunset. Not a soul around. Just the sound of waves and a sky turning pink, orange, and purple. I didn’t take a photo. Some moments shouldn’t have a phone in them. Right?

What about the staff?
They’re locals. Proper Ayrshire folk. Friendly, no-nonsense, and brutally helpful. Need a hairdryer? “It’s in the cupboard, love.” Lost the key to the sauna? “Aye, happenin’ all the time. Here.” They even gave us a map of secret walking paths. Place is full of little secrets.
There’s also a putting green that looks simple until your ball rolls into a bush and you start questioning your every life choice. My partner beat me six games in a row. The shame still lingers.
