Harry Potter Cast Members That Have Died
We can’t forget the others who added magic to every scene. John Hurt (Mr. Ollivander) passed in 2017, and he made giving Harry his wand feel like a sacred ritual. He had the most memorable line: “The wand chooses the wizard.” Chills.
And good old Roger Lloyd-Pack (Barty Crouch Sr.) left us in 2014. He was so stern and proper, you just knew he was hiding something. A master of the “I’m very disappointed” face.

Let’s not forget Robert Hardy (Cornelius Fudge), who passed in 2017. He played the bumbling Minister of Magic so well that you wanted to scream, “Just trust Dumbledore, you fool!” Perfect casting, right?
A Moment for the Unforgettable
We also lost Jimmy Vee, who played a young Griphook the goblin, and Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas) is still very much alive, but I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention! (Gotcha!)
Actually, let’s be serious for a second. Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) passed away in 2026, and she was simply magnificent. Her cold stare as she lied to Voldemort… award-worthy. And let’s pour one out for Veronica Clifford, the original voice of the Sorting Hat. Finding a hat that can sing is hard work.
