What Is Difference Between a Fruit and a Vegetable
In cuisine, the lines get blurry, and we start to use the terms fruit and vegetable based on how we use them in cooking. For instance, a tomato is botanically a fruit, but we use it as a veggie in sauces, soups, and salads. And don't even get me started on rhubarb - it's a vegetable that's often used in sweet desserts like pies and tarts!
Historically, the distinction between fruits and veggies has been pretty arbitrary. In ancient Rome, vegetables were considered inferior to fruits, which were seen as a luxury food. Meanwhile, in many Asian cultures, vegetables are the star of the show, with fruits playing a supporting role. It just goes to show that the way we categorize our food is often a matter of cultural perspective.
