Church Street Community Leisure Centre Photos
Let’s talk about the gym photos. No one ever looks good in gym photos, and Church Street doesn’t lie to you. There’s a picture of a guy on the rowing machine looking like he’s trying to paddle a boat away from a shark. His face is a masterpiece of determined agony.
Another shot shows a woman doing bicep curls, but she’s clearly distracted by her phone, which is balanced precariously on the machine. The camera caught her mid-sentence, mouth open. It’s authentic. It’s the look of someone who is also thinking about dinner while lifting three kilograms.

The best one? A close-up of the gym clock. It reads 6:47 PM on a Tuesday. That photo sums up the entire human experience in one image. We’ve all been there, counting down the seconds until we can go home and eat a bag of crisps.
The Changing Room Hall of Fame
You can’t have a leisure centre photo gallery without the changing room shots. One shows a row of lockers, one of which has a single sock dangling from the vent. It’s been there since 2019. We all know it. We all respect it.
Another picture captures a sign that says, “Please do not leave wet swimsuits on the floor.” Directly below it, lying in a puddle, is a wet swimsuit. It’s a passive-aggressive art installation. The photographer knew what they were doing.
There’s even a shot of the hairdryer, which has a cord wrapped around it like a snake that gave up. It’s not pretty, but it’s real. You can almost hear the high-pitched whine it makes when you press the button.
