Hamburgers Originated in What Country
As we delve into the past, we discover that the concept of a ground meat patty was born in Hamburg, where it was served as a Hamburg steak. This tasty dish was made from a mixture of beef, onions, and spices, and was often served with a side of potatoes and vegetables. The Hamburg steak was a staple in the city, and its popularity soon spread to other parts of the world.
But, how did this German dish transform into the hamburger we know and love today? The answer lies in the mass migration of Germans to the United States in the late 19th century. As they settled in their new home, they brought their culinary traditions with them, including the Hamburg steak.
Fast forward to the early 20th century, and the hamburger started to take shape. It was during this time that Louis Lassen, a Danish immigrant, is said to have served a ground beef patty between two slices of bread to hungry sailors and travelers. And just like that, the hamburger was born!
