Most Popular Religion in Mexico
Mexican Catholics have a saint for everything. Need a parking spot? Pray to Saint Jude (the patron of lost causes). Lost your keys? Saint Anthony is your guy.
There’s even a popular tradition: bury a statue of Saint Joseph upside down in your yard when you want to sell your house. Supposedly, he won’t “rest” until the house sells. That is hilarious and effective—people swear by it.
And if you really want to see a spectacle, visit a church during Holy Week. They reenact the crucifixion. In real life. With real nails? No, thank goodness. But the drama is Oscar-worthy.
