Grind Size for Drip Coffee
Fill your filter basket. Smell the grounds. Does it smell like chocolate, nuts, or berries? Good. Now pour your water at 195–205°F (boil it and wait 30 seconds). That’s the Goldilocks temperature.
If you’re using a machine with a timer, don’t mess with the water temp—just trust the grind. That’s your one lever of control. Pull it like you’re in a video game.
And remember: you’re not a bad person for buying pre-ground once in a while. We’ve all been there. But now you know the secret. Go forth and grind smart. I’ll be over here making a perfect cup, smug as ever. Cheers.
