State of California Contractor License Board

The CSLB was created to protect California consumers from shady contractors, and let me tell you, they've seen some stuff. Like, did you know that in the 1920s, contractors were like the Wild West – anything went, and it was every person for themselves? But then the CSLB came along and was all, "Hey, no more of that nonsense!" And just like that, the contractor licensing process was born.

Today, the CSLB is responsible for licensing over 290,000 contractors in California, which is like trying to herd cats, but instead of cats, it's contractors, and instead of herding, it's regulating. They also handle complaints and disciplinary actions, because, let's face it, not everyone is going to play by the rules. But don't worry, the CSLB is on it, like a hawk on a mission to protect the good people of California.
