Goring on Thames George Michael House
The property is called “The Grove.” Sounds like a summer camp for millionaires, right? But it’s seriously palatial. We’re talking eight bedrooms, a swimming pool, a tennis court, and enough land to get lost in.
And the interior? Oh, man. It was famously white. White sofas, white walls, white everything. I’m pretty sure you’d need sunglasses just to walk to the kitchen. He once said he liked it because it felt “clean and calm.” But let’s be honest—it probably also looked amazing in the photo shoots he did there.
There was also a state-of-the-art recording studio in the basement. Because of course there was. Why go to Abbey Road when you can just roll out of bed in your pajamas and lay down a vocal track?
The Neighbors and the Village Vibe
Imagine being a local in Goring-on-Thames. You’re walking your dog, buying a newspaper, and suddenly George Michael waves at you from his convertible. That actually happened. He was known for being a brilliantly normal neighbor.
He’d pop into the local pub, The Catherine Wheel, for a quiet pint. No entourage, no sunglasses at midnight. Just George, being George. He even donated money to the village’s primary school and the local church. How many megastars do that? Few, my friend. Very few.

There’s a story about him helping an elderly woman carry her groceries. Seriously. The man who sold millions of records was also the guy who’d help you with your shopping bags. Come on. That’s just lovely.
