What Do David Attenboroughs Children Do
Meet Robert Attenborough, the eldest son. You’d expect him to be a marine biologist or a botanist who can identify a rare fungus from 50 paces. Instead, he picked up a controller. Robert is an academic – specifically, a Senior Lecturer in Bioanthropology at the Australian National University.
Okay, that sounds close to dad’s turf. But here’s the kicker: Robert specializes in human evolution and dental anthropology. That's right. While Sir David tells us how other animals chew, Robert literally studies ancient tooth enamel. The Attenborough dinner table must be a riot: “Pass the salt, and by the way, I found a Neanderthal molar today.”
He also co-authored a paper on computer modeling of prehistoric diets. So, if you’ve ever wondered what a caveman’s Uber Eats order looked like, this is your guy. He's basically the CSI: Prehistoric Kitchen of the family tree.
