Premier Inn Manchester City Centre Princess Street Hotel
Walking through the automatic doors felt like stepping into a warm hug. The lobby was buzzing, not with chaos, but with that pleasant, hotel hum—people checking in, a family trying to fold a pram. The staff member at reception caught my eye and, without me saying a word about my drowned-rat look, said: “The bar’s got a kettle, mate. Help yourself to a tea while you wait.”
It was a tiny thing. But in that moment, it was everything. It’s that kind of low-key, human kindness that sticks with you more than any fancy bathrobe. And honestly? The location here is a cheat code for exploring the city.
Location, Location… and a Side of Canal
Princess Street sits right in the thick of it, but somehow not in the noisy, club-thumping thick of it. You’re a five-minute stumble from Piccadilly Gardens and a two-minute turn from the Canal Street scene. Brilliant for a night out, but quiet enough that you can actually get some sleep.
I swear, the hotel is on the border of two Manchesters: the chaotic, shopping-bag-toting one, and the quieter, cobblestone-lane one. You get both. And if you’re a light sleeper—like me—the double-glazing is seriously good. I didn’t hear a single taxi horn all night. Miracle.
