Books by Kate Morton in Order
In 2012, Morton dropped the bomb: The Secret Keeper. This one is insane. It starts with a boy who sees a murder in 1961. Then it jumps to London during World War II. The reveal made me drop the book. Seriously. It involves a mistaken identity, a stolen coat, and a theatrical sword. You won’t see it coming.
Then came The Lake House (2015). A baby goes missing from a party. The house is sealed. The family falls apart. Fast forward sixty years, and a detective finds the cold case. She has her own trauma. The detective’s name is Sadie, and she drives a beat-up car. She’s the chaotic energy every mystery needs.
Author I Love: Kate Morton - Splendry
Funny detail: Morton writes mostly in a shed in her garden. She wears pajamas. She listens to sad classical music. This is how despair becomes beautiful on the page. Respect the process.
