Should Chili Have Beans
Let’s be honest: it doesn’t matter. Chili is a blanket of comfort. If you like beans, add them. If you don’t, leave them out. The universe will not collapse. Your neighbors might judge you, but they’ll probably judge you for the color of your lawn too.
I’ve seen people argue for hours over this, and at the end, they’re both eating chili. No one says, “This was delicious, but I’m mad about the kidney beans.” We’re all just warm, full, and slightly gassy.
So here’s my final verdict: chili is whatever you want it to be. But if you ever come to my house, expect beans. And if you complain, I’ll serve you a bowl of plain hot water and call it “authentic.” Deal?
